Bock auf Bock? Eigentlich sind wir ein bisschen spät dran um einen hellen Bock abzufüllen, aber Corona macht's nötig. Gott sei Dank ist dieser Collab mit der Hensen Brauerei und Hausfreund aber untypisch hoch vergoren und hopfig und passt daher ausgezeichnet auch zu wärmerem Wetter.

Bottle from Geers. Pours clear golden with a thin, white head. Aroma of bread, yeast, dry apple, pear, honey, spices. Taste has sweet malt, bread, honey & apple, bitter grass & spices, ending dry & yeasty, some grassy hops & malty apple. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Drinkable, refreshing Bock.

Hazy amber. Aroma is feinwürzig bready malty dough faint fresh lime. Taste is full bodied chewy doughy. Not very sweet but still rather intense. Good to drink. Nicely balanced. So they can do bock as well...

Bottle. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is flowery hops, honeycake. Taste is very flowery-hoppy, with a typical Heller Bock body, sweetish and honeycake, but the balance is there. Soft mouthfeel, some minerals, with very soft carbonation. Very good one for the style.

Tap at Frisches Bier. Clear golden body, white head. The aroma in very much, heavily hoppy - but this German Chinook is more German than Chinook now, so it's basically very flowery-spicy in my book. Flowery hoppy taste, smooth, clean, clean maltiness, ending dry, without that much bitterness. A pilsner on steroids, and a very good one!

On tap at Frisches Bier, München, Thurs' 23rd July 2020 (first visit here since early spring owing to COVID-19). Pours gold with a lovely ever so slightly viscous than normal appearance, good clarity, white rim of bubbles. Thick in the mouth, lovely maltiness, okay it's a little sweet, it's bloody marvellous though, nice soft mouthfeel, a little honey drizzle, great.

50cl bottle. A clear yellow golden beer with a white lacing. Aroma of moderate sweet pale malt, some honey, grains. Taste of dry strong moderate sweet malt with hints of honey, moderate bitterness.

Tap at Frisches Bier. Light hazy golden, off-white lace, champagne pearls.Dry fruity, apple, gooseberry, some minerals, medium full dry chewy body, solid malt body, big but not sweet, grassy and light tangy fruity hops as counterpoint. Really solid and moreish.
