Cask at the Cleveland Arms - London. Pours perfectly clear gold with a foamy, white head. The nose has ripening fruits, berries and grapes, mild bread. Light to medium sweet with more fruity sugars, grapes, very faint leafy bitterness, some berry skins and grains. Light bodied with fine carbonation; fair condition. Sweet finish with yet more berries, lightly sugary bread. Pretty basic but a decent sessioner.

Cask at the moon under water watford. Light copper colour with a thin persistent white head. Aroma is stale crystal malt line cleaner and apples. Flavour follows nutty malt pang of Apple. bitterness is tart and dirty. Meh I’m sure this wild be better in the hands if a proper cellarman.

Draft at the Cross Keys, Wooten Bassett. Medium amber pour, light frothy head with heavy lacing. Light fruity aroma leading to a sour citrus taste. Quite smooth and a very drinkable English ale if the slightly sour nature of the beer is your cup of tea. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear 500ml bottle; best before Apr 2013, poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard on 14 Aug 2012. The beer label asks for the beer to chilled (very slightly), so it has been. Amber body, clean, clear and healthy looking: off-white to cream coloured head of bubbles set it off nicely. Weak nose of mild maltiness and mini hoppiness, even as the chilled beer warmed it still didn’t produce much in the way of an aroma. I enjoyed the uncomplicated taste: a pleasant blend of flavours, understated hoppiness and some semi-sweet malts (toffee and caramel notes) to give the brew a well balanced feel. Smooth mouthfeel and an easy drinking beer: had it cask in Gloucester many years ago, enjoyed it then too.

(Cask at Southampton Arms, Kentish Town, London, 25 Nov 2010) Dark amber colour with brief head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of orange, toast and dusty hops. Malty, slightly fruity taste with citrus, dried fruit, grainy malt and some earthy hops in the finish. Rather light body, quite dry. A decent and highly drinkable bitter.
