A golden beer whose aroma is dominated by hops that give characteristic citrus notes. Hops and fruit on the palate are balanced by malt and a bitter base. Dry hoppy finish with soft fruit flavors. A nationally respected ale, winner of numerous awards, JHB is a blond baby packed with flavour & perfect for those long sessions as well as a quick pint at lunchtime.

Slightly opalescent golden colour, moderate sized white head; aroma of floral-honey, fruity, grainy and moderate citrusy notes; well balanced bittersweet taste with candy sugar, honey, bittery orange zest and fruity notes; refreshing ale

Bottle from Morrisons drunk alongside a spicy pizza whilst watching the Blues Brothers on Netflix when the wife was out. A great pour and a lovely gentle, fruity hop nose to the beer. There taste was all about those hops, fruity, slightly bitter and the jagged edges carefully rounded off. I could argue that this is a cross-over between an English and a New World IPA and for me it really worked. The abv was low and this would be eminently sessionable in the summer.

Pours a clear golden colour with a small frothy white head. A light malt and fruity aroma, sweet citrus and herbal hops. A moderately sweet taste, white bread, citrus and fresh sweet grassy hop flavours. Crisp in the mouth with a moderate citrus bitterness in the finish.

500ml bottle. Clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is malty, biscuit, citrus fruit. Taste of biscuity malts and citrus fruit, slightly floral, finish is bitter. Light body, oily texture, fine carbonation. Very nice and refreshing, definitely one of the better bitters I've had.

(Re-rate, cask at White Horse on Parsons Green, 20191017) Fruity and spicy aroma. Piny, spicy and malty taste. A pleasant golden ale with strong flavours. Old rating: (Cask at Gallows Bird Real Ale Festival 2017) The beer poured pale golden and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had sweetness, starch and malts. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were earth, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. A rather poor golden ale. Finish was nice. 5-6-3-11
