Clear golden color with a white head. Ok intensity in the aroma. Medium body and a soft carbonation level. Ok balance between sweetness and bitterness. Caramel malty, herbal, mild fruity and mild citric flavor. Very session able stuff.

Handpull cask from the Castle Inn, Cambridge. Dark gold, with a tiny bit of head. Clear. Smells of sharp, raw grainy English hops, a tiny bit of sick. Luckily the taste is better than the smell: a rounded grassy bitter with light astringent notes. Long bitter finish with a savoury hop note lingering in the aftertaste. I can’t put my finger on why I dislike this so much. The balance is off, and I’m not a fan of the hops used, but it’s more than that. It’s just below what Adnams can and usually do produce.
