Bottle courtesy of and shared with ogivlado (thanks!) Poured a murky velvety dark dark brown colour with a light tan medium-big head that went away slow. THe nose is quite nice. Fruity (grape juice?), milk chocolate, caramel, some dusty smoke. The taste is dominated by a coffe like smokey bitterness mingling with... apples? and alcohol. Some very faint hopiness. Coffee in the aftertaste. Simple but very drinkable, it’s a quality stout but it’s far from brilliant.

Corked bottle at Ølfestival 2008, Århus
Explosive bottle; cloudy brown color with too many floating particles. Too simple aroma. Quite good chocolate flavor, even if the mouthfeel is a bit harsh. Good, not more.

Bottle at ÅBF08. Sweet and sour. Muddy dark brown colour. Sweet flavour, some smoke. Quite nice smokiness. Some sourness, but still OK.

Throwdown. Hazy red-brown. Sweaty and vaguely smoky with a caramelized breadiness. There’s a little cherry rumminess. Lightly roasted finish. Easy drinking and very pleasant.

Medium beige head does not last. Hazy dark red-brown body. Smoky salty licorice aroma, very harmonic. Dry-sweet roasty smoky salty licorice taste with earthy citric fruity notes. Light, sharpish, mid-bodied. Long peppery spicy aftertaste. Very nice. (0.75l bottle from Erronius.)

Århus2008. 75 cL bottle. Pours hazy brown with a lacing white head. Light roasted aroma. Flavour is smoked and further of mild roasted malt. Dry flavour going into the finish in the same manor. Ends with a mild smoked note and dry.

Hazy brown with a small off-white head. Peat smoke, and bready malt dominates the aroma. Dry with a peat smoke flavour. Interesting idea, but not that exciting beer.

Bottled at Ølfestival, Århus, 2008. An unclear brown beer with a light sediment floating around under a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with hints of smoke - I find the aroma somewhat boring. The flavor is sweet with notes of peated smoke as well as hints of acidity, leading to a dry bitter finish.

Bottle at Aarhus beerfestival. Pours dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is of roast - caramel & smokey notes, quite mild though. Some grain & coffee. Not the worst smoked I’ve had!
