A dark enriched black and white stout balanced by ploughing through roasted malts and flaked oats with a slightly subtle but bitter hop character.

500ml bottle at home on 11th Dec 2015: poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard. Almost black body with a full and lasting tanned topping. Roasted/toasted malts in the nose and taste, semi-sweet, yet with a mini-burnt malty bitterness also. Easy to drink, smooth, rich and creamy: a very pleasant Stout in deed.

Cask @ JDW Bankers Draft, Sheffield [190314] [From memory as notes lost]
First beer of the Sheffield Trip so I remember this well. Black, dense tan head. Aroma of soft roast , chocolate, dark malts, some cereal. Similar flavours - good chocolate in it and nice smooth dark malts with that cereal edge. Medium body, smooth finish of soft roast and chocolate. Liked this one a lot. One of the best beers of the trip.

Aroma of roasted malts and a hint of coffee. Feels thin but does have an oily feel on the palate. Flavour has strong bitterness from the burnt malts.

A stout which is mild in character with a nutty aroma, but is lacking in its aftertaste.

500ml bottle - what you’d expect from a stout in looks, black body, white to beige head. Smoky chocolate nose, a few fruits and coffee in there. A bitter malt taste, a bit thin in the palate, and not much after. The cask version I tasted a few weeks ago was so much better.
