Cask at the Euston Tap, London. Pours black with a smooth, tight, light beige head. Enticing mocha aroma, modest roast. Flavor isn’t quite as nice but still alright. Light sweet, faint mocha and light fruits (like, raisins?) and mild earthy bitterness. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Quite a dry finish, mild lactic notes, more mocha. For what it’s worth, the beer leaves marvelous lacing. Overall solid.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham, on 28th December 2009. Red-black with pale brown head of foam. Complex flavour bouquet comprises plenty of roast malts, slight smokiness and fruit - mainly citric hop notes. A rewardingly flavoursome and highly satisfying stout.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of over ripe fruits as well as lighter notes of metal. The flavor is sweet malty and again dominated by over ripe fruit. The body is thin - no wonder at 4.5% ABV.

Hazy dark brown color; creamy head. The aroma, caramel, has also an unpleasant cardboard touch. Round mouthfeel in the front, dry later; dry caramel flavor, plain. Not bad, but useless to me.
