bottle, 2008 vintage, pours a beautiful amber with a tall frothy light tan head. Cinnamon, brown sugar, and raisins mixed with a peat note, very pleasant nose. Light bodied biscuit and toasted malt flavors that have a mild sweet and sour character that ends with a smoke flavor that is more on the mild side. A very drinkable bock with interesting flavors and a solid finish.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Wallingatan, Stockholm, 17 Feb 2009) Dark reddish brown colour with huge, beige head. Fruity, malty, slightly acidic nose with dried fruit, orange peel, dried apricots, spices and hints of smoke. Fruity, sourish taste with notes of dried fruit, orange peel, spices and sour notes of red-currant and tannin. Medium body, fairly dry. This was on the sour side, but sometimes smoke makes a beer feel sour. A bit suspicious form, but still drinkable and ok. Might give it a new chance. (Rating #2000)

Bottled at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Lightly hazy ruby colour, creamy head. Tart aroma of caramel and cherry. Sweet and merium bodied, well rounded. Caramelly and yeasty with the faintest hint of peat. Mildly warming with low bitterness.

Bottle: Poured a dark brown with soft reddish tint, head is thin beige. Aroma is smokey, peat, and malt. Taste is smokey, coffee, dark chocolate. Finish lingers on the taste bud as dry and malt. I really enjoy beers like this.

Bottle, 7.7% at LCRBM08. Good roasted aroma, slightly creamy. Very nice creamy, malty and nutty, as if nuts were added. Pleasant carbonation.

Small yellowish head, gone in seconds over fully hazy brown beer with a yellow & purple shine. Sweet nose, raisins, nuts, fusels. Old nuts, old bread, sweet flavours with very little bitterness whatever. Like oxydized, but not oxydized. In the same vein, I do not find any smoked/phenolic notes. Light to medium bodied, but very slick. A bit dull, not very impressive, liked the other Molen Bocks more.

Bottle @ the bockbierborrel of my faculty. Label says Borefts Turf Bock 2008, ABV 7.7%, so I’m not sure if this is the same beer. Deep dark reddish brown beer, creamy beige head. Aroma of peat, roasted malts. Flavour is peaty, sweet, roasted malts, caramel. Flavour underneath is rather sour. Fullbodied. Didn’t like the sourness. Not an average bock though.
