4/I/25 - 33cl bottle from La Bièrerie (Illkirch, Strasbourg, FR), shared @ ElManana+1’s place, BB: 9/VI/25, lot 491, bottle n°0630 (2025-15)
Clear dark brown to black beer, big creamy beige head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: good deep roast, coffee, a bit dusty, some caramel, nice! MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: malty start, sweet, good roast, bitter, hoppy, some dark chocolate. Aftertaste: hoppy, bitter, a bit malty, more roast, sweet, caramel, nice. But more of a sweet stout, than a Black IPA if you ask me.

Bottle. Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is leafy, herbal, chocolate. Taste is leafy, herbal, chocolate, mild roast, very strong bitterness in the back. Oily mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Solid, but really hardcore indeed.

From the bottle. Virtually black with a creamy tan head that lingers. A sticky lacing clings to the glass. Pine, ash and chocolate in the aroma. Taste is bitter with the pine and milk chocolate playing out against a roasted coffee bitterness that dominates the finish. Body is medium, silky smooth, sticky with a mild carbonation. Very nice.
