O’zapft is! Auf die Freundschaft!

50cl Fles van LIDL. Helder goudgele kleur, witte kraag. Zoet, moutig, honing, rode appel, licht grassig, degelijk bitter. Lichte body, glad mondgevoel. Bijna saai, maar zo goed gemaakt dat het me erg goed smaakte.

Bottle at home. Clear golden color, white head. Aroma and flavor are malts, hayish, softly hayish bitter. Smooth texture and average to decent body and soft carbonation. Easy drinkable, quite okay.

Bottle, 5.4%. Ok malty aroma. Shiny golden colour. Ok white head. The flavour is malty with a mild spicy hop note. Clean bitterness.

500ml bottle from Lidl Shrewsbury. Almost to the end of the festbier slab. Starting to taste quite similar now. Pours gold, large rocky white head. Bready malt, clean yeasty profile, nicely sweet with caramelised malt shades.

Bottle from Lidl in Uxbridge. A golden/yellow coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Sweetish, bready, malty, yeasty, honey taste and aroma. It's an easy drinking clean tasting German Marzen, would be nice in the garden on a hot summers day.

Bottle from the Aldi/Kalea Oktoberfest box. Brooklands branch. Aroma has biscuity malts and light citrus. Clear light gold. Foamy translucent white head. Initial caramel and biscuit sweetness, soon followed by a bitter streak. Herbal. Earthy. Underlying syrupy sweetness then closes. Light. Thin but slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Chewy. Although a tad too syrupy.

Bottle. Color: Clear pale golden, white head. Aroma: Malty. Taste: Malty, grain notes, fruity hints. Moderate sweet, light hopbitterness. Quite dense mouthfeel for this style. Medium body, just below average carbonation. Nothing special, but overall pretty nice.
