Bottle at my brother's boyfriend's wake - RIP Gian. Very sweet, lots of honey and rum, smooth and intense. Lovely stuff.

Tap at Zil Verne. Dark brown color with medium beige head. Aroma of rum, dark malt, chocolate, wood. Taste is coconut, dark malt, chocolate, rum, wood, warming alcohol.

Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, alcohol, licorice, coffee, brown sugar and wood. Taste is heavy sweet and medium bitter with a long warm, boozy, roasted, brown sugar, wood, coffee and licorice finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Darkest brown. Aroma is caramel toffee pudding prickly pear boozy phenols raisin. Taste is boozy phenolic raisin vanilla. Finish of rum and woods and raisin. Heavy and phenolic. Hardly drinkable. But complex. Phew.

Bottle, thanks to my brother for the Christmas gift! Dark brown with a thin head. Vanilla, molasses, nice smooth aroma. The flavor starts sweet, a hint of umami, roasty flavors, moving to dry and spicy rum finish. Wow, the rum is really present at the tail end. This is fantastically well balanced with a nice umami note. I've hardly had such a strong beer that mixed the high alcohol, sweetness, beer flavor, and smooth bitterness as well as this. Amazing balance, perfect beer.

Bottle. Dark brown, low head. Dark chocolate, rum praline, sparkly full-bodied, spirited, sweet notes, nice balance, vanilla, coffee cocoa, cinnamon, deep but not overpowering.wood barrel rum finish. Very nice.

Taste is very sweet, very bitter and light to medium salty. Body is creamy with faint carbonation. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long duration, dark malt, barrel, dark fruit, alcohol - rum, roasted - chocolate - coffee.
