Clear dark brown to black beer, practically no head. Aroma: lots of dark chocolate, tonka beans, caramel, some coffee, good roast, hint of vanilla, more chocolate, very nice! MF: soft to no carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet start, lots of alcohol, lots of dark chocolate, a bit sourish, sugary, sticky, more alcohol, gentle bitterness. Aftertaste: sugary, tonka beans, sweet touch, dark chocolate, gentle roast, coffee notes, more alcohol, tonka, caramel, vanilla, nice!

Bière partagée avec Graham et FX. C'est du lourd que nous propose ici Cloudwater sur cet imperial stout qui est d'une intensité remarquable avec de beaux arômes de café et chocolat. Le visuel est sur un noir total sans effervescence ni mousse. Au nez, chocolat, café avec une pointe de caramel vous montent aux narines. C'est franc, c'est net, c'est bon. L'attaque est riche et gourmande en laissant apparaitre une belle texture suave avec un sucre pas trop poussé. L'alcool, à 12 % est également parfaitement intégré, s'intégrant parfaitement tout en soutenant parfaitement la structure. Et vu l'intensité et la corpulence, l'équilibre est très bien trouvé. La deuxième bouche laisse entrevoir des nuances de vanille et de noisette, là où l'arrière est très fort en chocolat tel un fondant. Le final est long et intense pour une très belle bière.

11/11/2022. Can shared in Noumea with J-B and F-X. Bought from Cloudwater. Pours black with a small tan coloured head. Rich powerful aroma of dark chocolate, black coffee, cocoa, caramel, molasses, brown sugar. Medium sweetness and moderate to medium roasted bitterness. Quite full bodied, smooth, very soft carbonation. Very very good.

Can on the train to Derby, thanks to Fergus, 11/02/22. Black with a modest tan cap. Nose is bitter chocolate, light spice, tonka bean, dark malts. Taste comprises decadent chocolate, Tonka bean, coffee, light spice, mellow roast, toffee, molasses. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced kiss of alcohol. Solid.

Can shared on train to Derby. A thick dark brown black coloured pour with a halo of dark tan head. Aroma is rich dark chocolate, drinking cocoa, salty, layered chocolate, fudge. Flavour is composed of intense, layered chocolate roast, tonka beans, salty roast, cinnamon bun, bitter chocolate. Palate is medium sweet, velvety, smooth, Warming alcohol. Nice.

Can shared by Fergus: Poured a deep black with light brown head. Aroma is rich chocolate, malty, roasty, coffee. Taste is rich bitter chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, cinnamon.

Lovely milk chocolate up front with a dark bitter finish. Pretty stunning

COD 090720. Pours black, glossy, flat. Heavy smell of bitter chocolate, and a hint of vanilla. Mouthfeel is smooth, fairly thick, and definitely boozy. Taste is sweet at first, before going into rich, bitter chocolate coffee. Heavy monster, beats MCI.

Appearance is oily, pitch black, with no head at all. Completely opaque. Aroma- lots of chocolate, coffee, tiramisu, brownie, chocolate fudge cake, vanilla, toffee, hints of boozy dark fruits. Taste is chocolate, dark chocolate cake, fudge, brownie, bitter dark chocolate, cakey malt, tiramisu, liquorice, treacle toffee, long sweet chocolatey finish. Slick oily mouthfeel, abv very well-hidden. Great.
