Cabaret is our reinvention of an old Belgian beer style ("cabaret beer"). At 4.8% abv, it's a mixed fermentation beer with a mix of Belgian and new world influences, with a restrained funkiness and soft drinkability. We added orange zest and pulp in the coolship, with Waimea, Strisselspalt and dry hopped with Tettnanger. Basically, this is a fun little mixed fermentation summery beer. Cheers to that, people!

Draft: Poured a cloudy yellow with a white head. Aroma is light fruit. Taste is green, aloe, melon, not as good as I would have expected.

Can from House of Trembling Madness. It pours clear pale gold with a quickly dissipating fizzy white head. The aroma is quite soft, crackery malt, sweet tangerine, orange squash, grass, light spice, damp wood and hay. The taste is crisp, dry, fresh and quenching, straw, grass, light funk, dry wood, some spice, dry wood, mellow tangerine and orange marmalade sandwiches on white bread. Lighter end of body and fine, fizzy carbonation. Quite a subtle number, but quenching and moreish. Deeper into the can I get more funk. Not bad.

Can a from the SMOD online store, thanks to Colin fro the hookup. A light hazed yellow straw coloured pour with a fine white fizz. Aroma is classic Belgian pale ale yeast, bready, clove, little soapy, lemon peel. Flavour is composed of light pale grains, mineral, clove, chamomile, pissy citrus. Quite a beery beer. Palate is light fizzy, chalky, little thin, fine carbonation. Decent. some wit beir yeast character.

Can at home, from SMOD online watching the 2nd ODI vs Ireland, 01/08/20. Moderate haze on a golden orange pour with a decent white cap, carbonation evident. Nose is light candied fruits, mellow yeast esters, grass, hint of spice, orange zest. Taste comprises lemon tinged straw, hint of green berry, yeast esters, candied orange peel, grass, light herb. Medium bodied, fine to prickly carbonation, semi drying close. Solid quaffable Belgique affair.

Can. Light haze on this pale gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and fairly dry, a decent fine minerally carbonation. Thin malts. Floral orange and tangerine, quite light. Some pine in the background. Fades away from even these modest flavours on the light semi dry finish. Gives the impression of a massively watered down Bucks Fizz. Clean and inoffensive but based on my first brew for this hyped brewery, WTF?

Can in Hackney Downs - sourced from All Good Beer HD. Pours lightly hazy gold with a foamy, white head. Lovely beer overall, moderately sweet, lots of bread, wheat, citrus impressions, low bitterness, yeast. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with more forward yeast, wheat bread, a little dough, accents of citrus, hay. Highly drinkable - my wife had half the can and remarked that this is one of the better beers I have shared with her in a while. Reminded me of a witbier almost. Tasty one.

Can, picked up at the brewery. Soft haze on a dark straw colour. Wispy, dense white head. Nose has yeasty bread. Touch of clove. Whiff of sulphur. Orange peel. Some lemon rind. Some bright brett. Taste is well balanced, with light, fruity sweetness, and a moderate, slightly funky edge. Smooth and airy mouthfeel. Solid, foamy carbonation. Some dryness with more of the funk to finish. Great stuff. Super drinkable.
