Cask @ Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Clear, still reddish copper with almost no head. Subdued aroma of leaves, caramel, forest fruits. Too faint to get much out of it. Taste is a refreshing sweet with slight bitter notes, and a bit of bitterness in the finish. Enjoyable but by no means groundbreaking.

Cask at Castle Tavern, Inverness. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The nose is wood, earth, grainy, leather and a touch of farmyard. The taste is wood, twigs, leather, light bitterness and underlying caramel with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Nothing wrong with it, just a fairly standard bitter.
