Bright clear amber beer, little white head. Crispy semi dry palate. Minerals. Creamy malt with mild caramel and toffee. Nice malt base - the hops provide bitter balance but no real fruit. Mildly bitter aftertaste.

50cl bottle, BB 02/2013.

Cask at the Euston Tap. Pours clear brown with a frothy, cream head. Nutty, toasty malt aroma. Fairly sweet flavor, some toffee, more toasty malts and nuts, some leaves and herb bitters. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Some dark sugar and toast in the finish, bit more leafy, earthy bitters. Good beer.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a clear amber with a tiny off-white head. Some caramel and again yeast and phenols. Rather light in body, a little caramel and again all these fermenting off-flavours. Ends dry and horse. 170910

@ Cross Guns, Avoncliff. Golden-bronze colour. The aroma shows bread, caramel and toasty notes. Softer, more caramelly character comes later. This is a maltier bitter.

50cl bottle from the Hogs Back Brewery Shop. Amber with a ring of off-white head, quite lively carbonation; malty caramel aroma; malty caramel taste too, acceptable but not very exciting; and a light sweet digestive biscuit finish. Not bad.
