Inspired by the cunning countryside fox, this moreish auburn ale combines the biscuity and aromatic qualities of our speciality malts with the citrus hop charge of Celeia and Cascade hops. A refreshing beer ideal with spicy Mexican dishes. We’ve been brewing in the heart of Dorset since 1777.

Bottle from Tesco, Prestwich. Edging towards a tawny golden colour with a very thin head. There’s a few hops evident, a little more so in its taste than aroma but it’s a pretty well balanced ale with a small bitterness and a small sweetness. Has a slightly smooth texture.

500ml bottle, opened on 25th Nov 2014 at home: poured into a UK pint sleeve. Nice amber body, clear and clean looking: thin white covering for a head. Citrus lead in both the nose and taste with a hop loaded feel from the off. There is a malt presence but they just give the beer a colour, the brew is all about the hop content and what they bring to the aroma and flavours.

Bittoe from Tesco drunk on a train. Aroma of either pasteurised ir heavily filtered malts. So it has some candy sugar malt. Flavour otherwise is fine. Amber malts are ok some dryness and a prickle on the finish although that could be the forced carbonation rather than hops. Ok but that boiled sweet thing isn’t great. Some nutty flavour initially on the mouth feel.
