Bottle in England. Aroma is light toffee malt, lots of caramel, a bit butty, hint of apples. Flavour is light to moderate sweet with a lightly bitter finish. Body is light to medium. Promises fruity Cascade, it doesn’t deliver upon that promise at all. This is all caramel malt.

2016 catch up - Bottle at home from Tesco - A good bitter. Well made, with some extra dimensions of malt and hops. It was a very pleasant drink with a nice biscuit flavour.

Bottle in W2 - sourced from Ocado. Pours totally clear gold, lightly effervescent, with a frothy, white head. A little English yeast in the nose, light doughy bread, hints of caramel. Light sweet flavour with rounded bready malt character, more dough, hints of citrus and meringue. Light bodied with average carbonation. Alright balance on the finish, further pale and light doughy bread, white sugar, English yeast, mild bitter hay. Simple but very enjoyable.

A gift from the mother in law, chosen because she liked the name. Pours clear gold. Off white bubbly head, that retains well. Predictably sweet toffee malts and stewed hop on the nose. Taste is an unimpressive mix of sweet and bitter. It’s a bit stewed tea in a metal pot, to me. Not as bad as I might have expected. I managed all of it, at any rate. First Dorset tick, too!
