Bottle at Mason and Taylor. Amber coloured with a small white head. Aroma is full of toffee and caramel. Quite malty. Slightly spiky in the mouth and taste has lots of malt and a tiny bit of spice. Nice! Rerate at Lyric on tap. Nutty, but also toffee. High maltiness but no twigginess! Pretty much the same score.

Half-pint, cask, shared with Finn at Barley Mow. Low beige head, clingy lacing, clear mahogany coloured body. Roasted aroma with hints of caramel. Mixed taste of dark fruits and caramel malts with a backdrop of herbal hop bitterness. Just alright (Bristol 29.04.2017).

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; clear light copper pour with a thin white head, aroma has sweet caramel and some robust malts, taste has much the same profile as I got from the aroma, could have done with being warmer.

500 ml bottle, as Bristol Beer Factory Seven, from Ales by Mail. ABV is 4.5%. Clear copper colour, moderate white (or slightly off-white) head, Aroma of malts and toffee, a hint of caramel. The flavour is more dry than sweet, but has still hints of caramel sweetness. Decent English hops throughout, with earthy notes and a good bitterness.
