Pours rather unclear blonde. Small to medium white head. Scent is aromatic (tea, malts, yeast). Taste is medium intense, BE yeast, malts, some sweetness. Tea is fairly mild, but present. Bit banana (by the yeast). Indifferent.

Tea-flavoured tripel from this successful Antwerp brewery that revived the old local ‘seefbier’; steinie bottle from a Delhaize supermarket. Apparently originally called “Lizzie”… Snow white, frothy, cobweb-lacing, thick and stable head on a misty straw blonde beer with herbal-greenish tinge, turning more ochre-tinged cloudy apricot with sediment. Aroma of banana peel, honey, indeed a clear herbal presence of tea – green tea, but also Earl Grey, further hints of white bread, ripe pear, soap, gypsum, fresh lemonbalm leaf, coriander seed, parsnip, freshly cut grass, old potatoes. Fruity, fizzy onset, banana, pear and green apple fruitiness, minerally carbonation with full and more or less smooth, bit glueish body; white-bready, cereally malts, soapy aspect that becomes briefly accentuated by the coriander, but then indeed this green and dried tea leaf effect sets in, lingering around retronasally for quite a while, as lingering fruitiness, yeasty breadiness, a phenolic clove-like accent and mild grassy hop bitterness continue. Some warming alcohol is noticeable, but not too strongly so. Not really my cup of tea (pun not intended) as I do not usually drink tea, I guess I prefer a coffee-flavoured stout over a tea-flavoured tripel, but this is in itself correctly executed and delivers what it promises, in an accessible, sweetish, ‘trusted’ flavour environment the larger masses will easily appreciate.

hazy grey-ish pale golden colour, large, dense and long lasting ecru-ish white head; aroma of grainy, peppery, apple peel, earthy-yeasty, floral honey and slight canned pear notes; typical tripel taste with apple and peppery notes; dry mouthfeel; great tripel - considerably underrated

Bottle from Delhaize. Hazy golden with a thick, foamy, white head. Aroma of apple peel, pear, white tea, apricot, jasmin, orange blossom, some leek. Taste has sweet estery apple & pear over a honey-bready and cake dough-like malt base with perfumey-flowery notes. Herbal hoppy, bit bitter finish, more perfumey tea & yellow fruit, some warming jenever-like alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Enjoyable. (Edited: 3/02/2026.)
