Sample (thanks fonefan!). Pitch black colour with a small beigeish brown head, which disappears quite quickly. Aroma is liquorice, toffee, some mild toasted and roasted elements with mild vanilla and a bit alcohol pushing through as well. Flavour is liquorice, chocolate, some syrupy tones and mild vanilla as well as toasted caramelly tones. Alcohol is quite well hidden in the flavour, but gives a really warming feeling in the throat on the way down. Silky palate.

750mL bottle at Side Project Cellar shared by a patron on 7/28/23. Dark, unclear. Tan head on edges. Nose is a bit toasty, ashen, fruity, plummy with raisins, vanilla and moderate bourbon. Not boozey. Juicy almost with dark fruits. Bourbon is easygoing, lightly spicy. Lots of ash, char, vanilla. Love the dark fruits though I think the black malts clash with the bourbon, which is why the newer American stouts have been so well-received (little/no roast/ash/char).

BIG bottle with a blue label drunk at the Christmas tasting after an interesting discussion about why it's not possible to rate 0 on RB. Now we're waiting to see if there's a hospital visit due to opening the wax-covered top, that makes it extra exciting. Super dark black, no head, Extra-big bourbony nose with a lot of malty sweetness. Flavor is super strong, big roast / a bit of umami / moderate soy. Smooth bourbon flavor, hard to believe it's almost 14% and not too boozy. Well there's a bit of booze, but it's alright.

Bottle courtesy of Marko, tasted with the München Ratebeer Group Christmas Tasting Friday 2nd December 2022. Pours pitch black with a hardly any head, thick mouthfeel, super thick, nice bitterness and with lots of black treacle. This is a little boozy but wonderful has a super dark chocolate hit.
