Med-thin bod, med-light carbo. Only light warmth, very deceptive. A bit of multivitamin aroma, but taste is more elegant. Some passionfruit and citruses evident. Complex, tasty, good. Not great though.

27/V/25 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ home, BB: 30/VIII/23 (2025-501)
Clear deep brown to purple beer, small creamy beige head, a little stable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: dried fruits, pretty oxidized, sherry notes, raisins, figs, a little earthy, pleasant! MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: surprisingly sourish, wasn’t expecting this at all, some dried fruits, raisins, very very oxidized, caramel, sherry and madeira, a bitter touch, some gentle roast, quite some alcohol. Aftertaste: a bit sugary, very oxidized, a hint of chocolate, cardboard, bitter, more oxidative notes, a little watery, caramel, spicy finish. Not too bad, I’m curious if the (unintentional) ageing made it better or not.

1st May 2024, Toogoloo. 33cl bottle all to myself. Ruby red hue to the dark brown body, beige top. Semi-sweet malty brew with a good dose of alcohol, dates/figs sort of flavours, very pleasant.

Belgian Happiness provided this 33 cl uniquely shaped bottle not so long ago. I will drink out of my Deliriuim snifter this evening, just because. With a pour I see a dark mahogany colored liquid finished by a skim of silvery foam that benefits from ongoing carbonation. The scent is of very ripe fruit and candy. And the taste is a bit different for the style but interesting enough. Quite sweet initially, grain, overly ripe plums, sweet malt, syrup, a touch of red wine, wood and a bit of vanilla. I think the flavor improves as the beer warms up. Glad to have a sampling, likely one and done even though I'm a fan of the style.
