12 fl. oz. bottle, bought at the GBBF 2008 for takeaway. Amber colour, big head. Aroma of Fuggles hops, but surprisingly moderate. The flavour is dominated by Fuggles hops as expected, but there is also a noticeable malty sweetness. Some fruity notes and a piney and slightly soapy finish. The bitterness is fairly subdued for an American IPA.

12 oz. bottle, from loose section at Binny’s. Light, spicy English hops smell when poured. Hazy brown head, rocky foam. Taste shows that this is a medium-strength, basic English type IPA, no extra bells or whistles. "Best by" squares on label were not punched, but this seems reasonably fresh. Hop character becomes more resolute after a few sips. It is a bit earthy, even woody, with light peppercorn and a hint of pine. Malt is a good base to build on, not much more, with caramel and toast involved. Good basic style IPA. I’d love to try several single hop beers at one time to train my palate.

A watered down version of the Brewmaster Choice. Pours golden, medium carbonation. A little taste of hop and always this light mouthfeel of strawberry/orange peel. Leaves a waterred down taste on the palate. Something is lacking in this beer, flavor and content comes to mind.

Not much IPA aroma here, not like the flowery hop or pine smell I usually get with IPA. Just an off, slightly rotten, yeasty aroma. Looks somewhat like a darker ubiquitous american lager, orange but not hazy, nothing special except for a half inch creamy head. On the palate, it lacks the hoppy bite that is so prevalent in IPA, this is more like a stronger APA. Not sure if there is any apple plum in there as in the description. Though not very bitter on the commencement, the bitterness on the back of the throat continues to build thru the session. A little less oppressive compared to other IPA’s. Has a medicinal feel to it on the finish and it is a little too much for my girlie taste buds. Weird and processed, reminds me of an IPA that BMC might make.

Weak aroma of lemon peel. Amber color medium head, some lacing. Lime and thistle, quite bitter. Weak celery finish. Pretty good, but too bitter for my taste.

bottle - Pours amber with a one finger lingering head that leaves some lacing. The aroma has some malts and some pine hops. Taste has plenty of bitterness, but the hops isn’t very crisp and the balance seems to be off a bit.
