Keg at ol Manchester. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate and leather. Tate is woody and earthy with strong chocolate and sarspirella. Light tarry finish. Umami!

30/VIII/22 - 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte), shared @ home, BB: 17/XI/24 (2022-1094)
Clear dark brown to black beer, big creamy beige irregular head, unstable, crackles down quickly. Aroma: good roast, earthy, tobacco, very intense roast, dark caramel, touch of vanilla, sugary impression, alcohol noticeable. MF: soft carbon, full body, thick and cloying texture, almost oily slick. Taste: sweet and sugary start, lots of alcohol, dark caramel, pretty bitter, dark roast, earth, muddy touch, lots of alcohol warming the throat, very sugary, some honey. Aftertaste: very cloying, sugary, way too sweet, a bit sourish, all alcohol, sticky, too sharp, alcohol burning the throat. This might mellow out in a few years, but right now this is pretty undrinkable...

330mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Nose brings out lots of dark dried fruits, gentle roast, some alcohol, and wood. Flavour is sweet and complex, with loads of dark dried fruits (prunes, raisins, dates, etc.), molasses, a touch of roast, and surprisingly well-integrated booze for a 15% impie. The dark dried fruit character is very nice. There's plenty of sweetness, but it's reined in by the booze and overall sturdy structure of the beer. You don't usually see imperial stouts like this on this side of the Atlantic. Nicely done.

330 ml bottle. Pours black with few bubbles. Aromas of dark chocolate, tobacco, a little vinous wood and roasted malts. Flavors follow same with additional sweet coffee. Icy/hot finish confirming the ABV

10 April 2022. At 14de Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to Anke & Pieter!
Hazy black, stable, foamy, beige head. Aroma of milk chocolate, caramel, brown sugar, date, tobacco, prune, mocha, wet wood, brandy. Taste has very sweet date, fig, plum in a candied way; next to brown sugar, biscuit and caramel aspects. Herbal hoppy finish, vague hint of cinnamon (even though not present), candied fruits, more sugar and boozy brown rum-like alochol. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Very sweet yet structured, and intense.

Zythos 2022. Black with quick fading head. It's very strong and quite boozy with a background raisiny sweetness.

33cl bottle from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours dark purple, fairly dense, with practically no foam. Aroma is sweet with licorice, molasses, milk chocolate, liquor. Body is partially dense, with moderate carbonation. Taste is quite sweet, with the rosary character being instead limited. Final is long and still sweet.

Flaska från belgiuminabox. Mörkt mörkt brunröd kladdig vätska med lågt skum. Till doften någonstans mellan sherry och portvin. Riktigt trevlig. Smaken är lika bra. Komplex, mjukt rund, potent.

Taste explosion... Hard to rate this beer. It's not balanced but I don't really care... It isn't great... But it has it's right to exist. Nice!
