Bottle sample at a tasting at Porter & Sons. Hazy deep golden. Barnyard, oxidation, honey note, some fruitiness, oak, sour and slightly bitterish, lively carbonation. Very good.

75cl bottle with the blåbærboys. Thanks Alex. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Deep funk. Wood, green apples and sulphur. Vinous and dry. Tasty and quite a quaffer.

Bottle shared in Watford - cheers to Dave. Pours lightly hazed orange-gold with a tight, creamy white head. Lightly sweet, quite dry and wood, ample citric tartness, a little grass, salt. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Drying finish, more salt, lemon, pale wood dryness. Good stuff overall. Very dry.

Bottle split at the Autumn Watford tasting, thanks to Dave, 24/09/21. Lightly hazed golden amber with a decent egg shell white head formed of thinly knit bubbles. Nose is dusty fruit esters, funk, grass, herb, hedgerow, farmyard notes. Taste comprises tannins, apple skins, funk, pissy citric shreds, grass, hedgerow, herb, lemon peel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent farmhouse affiar.

Bottle shared at Watford tasting. Many thanks to Wingman for this one. A light hazed golden orange coloured pour with a lasting off white cap. Aroma is sour lemon juice, grassy, nettle, onion, musty grape funk. Flavour is composed of sour, tangy, lemon, onion, lemon rind,. Palate is dry, tangy, sour, nettle, spritzy carbonation. Good. But not really a Biere de garde.

Bottle. Mills online shop. Moderate haze on a pale gold. Fine streams of bubbles keep alive a thin, dense, lasting white head. Nose has lemon rind. Cider lolly. Fresh sawn wood. Stewed apple. Ground pepper. Leathery brett. It’s all here. Half a tea cake, tbh. Taste is tart and juicy, with a lightly sour apple vibe. Clean and bright on the palate, with foamy carbonation. Tart and juicy finish. It’s amazing to me how easy it is to put away a world class beer like this. I feel as though I should pontificate more, but great beer warrants chugging.

Bouteille 75cl de et partagée avec Vincent, merci.
BB 11/2029, bottled 11/2019.

Good, bit fluffy off-white head over lively bubbled copperish golden beer. Wild yeasts a mile out, pure lambic/horseblanket/farmyard nose. Lemon, lactic acid, even leather and strongly so! Lemony, lactic acid and a finish with something as oregan and pepper. Leather, horseradish, farmyard, earthy and in the very end a tad bitterish, warming up. Light acidburn, lipsmacking acidity, very well-carbonated. Remarkable! Bière de garde??? my ***, this is honest to God lambic!
