The ’Jack of Clubs’ is a bottle conditioned, light ruby ale. Initial malty sweetness from British Crystal malts gives way to a balanced and lengthy hoppy bitterness created using a blend of flavourful and fragrant American hops.

Bottle from Tesco, Brooklands. Aroma: a mixture of hops and dark fruit. A sourness to it. Opaque dark brown. Thin off-white head recedes quickly. Mesium bitter. Hops and roast. Some underlying maltiness. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Fizzy carbonation. Long dry finish. Is it a bitter? I guess a modern hoppy interpretation. Not too bad. Has character.

Bottle that Jim shared - cheers! Murky amber with an off-white head and a light fizz. Fruity, with toffee, lots of diacetyl and a light but dirty bitterness. Not great, tastes like low grade homebrew.
