True to the lager tradition, Name Tag Lager is light-bodied and full-flavored. Unlike some other inexpensive lagers, Name Tag, brewed for us in Wisconsin, is an all-malt beer, with no rice, no corn – no fillers of any kind.
We were so impressed by the value of this beer (value = quality + price) that we put our name on it. Well, we put our name tag on it, anyway. Keep a six-pack of Name Tag in the fridge for those hotter-than-Hades days, when the only thing that will bring refreshment is an icy cold beer with your name on it.

A buck a can at Trader Joe’s in Nashville. Pours a light golden colour with a small white cap that disappears quickly and leaves a bit of spotty lacing. Was expecting a grassy Euro feel, but this one is all on the sweet side. Sweet nose, sweet taste.. with a honey aftertaste. I am glad it is only a small can, and not a bomber of this. Not super bad, but overall too sweet to have too much.

Ahhh... the loveliness of pee yellow beer out of a can. A nice fizzy white head, aromas of metal and corn... is it summer already? Flavor makes me think that the 50 cents a can that Trader Joe’s charges is about right. Not as awful as a lot of macros, but I’m expecting more for this summer.

Golden-straw colour. Grainy aroma with vegetables and harsh higher alcohols. Tastes like soda water with lime, cardboard, alcohol and some random unpleasantries.

Can. Classic pale lager. Pour is light yellow with some creamy head. Modestly hoppy aroma. Flavor is sweet, with hints of dank malts and light hops. Uncomplicated, yes, and completely drinkable. The beer of our grandfathers.

This beer has got to be the lowest i have ever paid for a single at a whopping 50 cents a can. Pour is yellow with a fizzy head. Aroma is grain and the flavor is sweet malts and not much else. Its a pale lager with a little more body to it than BMC.

12 ounce can from Trader Joe’s Glen Allen, VA. Pours a typical pale lager golden with a large creamy, foamy head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is bitter grassy notes along with some sawdust. Taste is creamed corn with a bitter grassy finish. Thin-medium bodied. Good for the style.

Can from Trader Joe’s. Pours gold with a huge white head. Aroma is mostly grain. Near medium body with foamy carbonation. Flavor is bready/grainy with little hop. It’s clean, and seems to have a mild florality. Eh!

12oz can. $2.99 a six-pack. Thin, filtered orange-yellow color. Foamy head that fades out after a minute. Sweet, sugary macro malt aroma. Stale dirty taste, a little Minhas buttery nastiness as well. Pretty bad example of a Lager, with no real enjoyable aspects. Even lacks any real hop character, maybe just the slightest inkling in the initial crispness. This beer makes all those horrible Eastern European beers I’ve had seem a whole lot better. Crap.
