Amber color, bottle. Tangerine, pepper and nutmeg in the aroma and flavor. Sweetish, peach. Prickly mouthfeel. Pleasant brew.

Pours very dark amber, smell is intense, rather sweet. Taste is full, very metallic, stong maltyness, sweet. Bit dusty ( close to exp date , that might explain a thing or 2 ) going to mild portorization. clearly has some Sugar notes though, as well as a certain yeastyness, that gives a dry character. There’s one ( off? ) aspect which tastes like what you smell at the petshop... not sure if due to age, as I never had this with any aged beer.

De Vlier’s second, presented at beer festival "Van Baby tot Opa" near Leuven in 2009 and named after the fact that the brewers were born in 1969. Thin, quickly opening, milky foam, deep yellow blonde colour, misty. Sweaty aroma, some H2S unfortunately, otherwise apple, mango, peach, vanilla, smoked bacon and white bread. Soft apply taste, dry, pale malts, smooth, thin, even flat due to underachieving carbonation, very light hoppiness in the end ruined by the retronasal H2S. Obvious failure.

Bottle at WWT3. Poured a rich reddish brown with a frothy white head. The aroma is rich malty liqourice leading to a medium to weak bitter flavour with some yeast and malt on the otherwise watery palate.

Sampled from bottle @ WWT III. Hazy dark orange to amber color, small to medium sized bwige head that diminishes fairly quickly. Smell and taste lightly malts, some sweetness, vanilla, chocolate. Weird that these flavors are in this beer. Weird beer I’d say. Maybe some herbs cause that? Medium body, a bit high carbonation.
