Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Hazy dark brown with beige head. Funk, sour cherries, light roast, earthy, soft dark chocolate, dead leaves, light vinous. Medium sweet, bitter and light sour. Medium bodied. Nice, but yeah it’s a dark wild ale and it’s a bit too earthy for me.

19/I/19 - 75cl bottle @ Nieuwjaarsreceptie Gentse Biervereniging, BB: n/a - (2019-110) Thanks to everyone for the huge bottle share!
Little cloudy brown beer, small creamy off-white head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: sourish, roasted, red fruits, bit smoky, infected? Not bad though. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: acidic start, caramel, pretty bitter, fruity notes, some tannins, dry. Aftertaste: sourish, red berries, dry, soft roast, decent one!

It's been a long wait since Hedonis' founder Janos told me that he was going to collaborate with Dutch Nevel to create a dark sour, but here we have it then, thanks to Loik for sharing the bottle! Large-bubbled, quite loose and open, pale yellowish beige head over a ruddy caramelly-bronze beer, hazed. Aroma of dry sherry, balsamic vinegar, moist acorn shells, grape peel, damp earth, maracuja, unripe blue plum, brambleberries, dry red wine, wet old wood. Tart onset, unripe stonefruit, black berries and grape peel with a slight vinegary edge but softly so, softish carb, bit glueish mouthfeel dried by the overall sourness; bread crust-like malt core with a thin toasty edge, covered in drying sourness and dusty earthiness, with the woody tannins adding further dryness; spicy-phenolic and earthy-bready yeast effects in the end, mingled with a herbal hop bitter accent, bit leafy. Balanced and drinkable, yet complex, earthy, leafy, bit spicy version of an 'oud bruin', very convincingly so even, refraining from overly harsh acidity but with a very yeasty character. Very interesting, would love to revisit this one.

Bottle. Color: Hazy dark ruby, beige head. Aroma: Fruity, vinuous, funk. Taste: Dark malt, moderate sourish, bit vinuous, going towards moderate sweet with light sourish notes, dry mouthfeel with hints of Sherry, and notes of wild yeast funk. Medium body, just below average carbonation. Typical Nevel flavours, another nice and unusual beer from this brewery.

Bottle shared by Joes. Red brownish color, average sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, brett. Somewhat fruity. Must admit, this is really good. Well done.
