Bottle @ home. Clear red/orange body under a big off-white head. Aroma is funky acidic with distinct beetroot, mild wood and a herbal touch. Taste is sour, malty, funk, wood, earthy, distinct beetroot, slightly herbal and red berries. Balanced body with a tart, funky beetroot aftertaste. Interesting with the beetroot part in this kind of beer, still I think the beer part is better alone without the beetroot flavor.

375 ml green bottle, batch #3, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.5%. Hazy ancient pink colour, no head. Aroma of lactic acid and lemons, only a hint of beetroot and absinthe. Flavour with the same elements, medium sour, but the beetroot and absinthe / wormwood are more distinct now. Moderate bitterness. Quite interesting.

Draught sample at MBCC 2022. Pump clip says 6.0 % abv. Deep red colour with a bubbly light pink head. Tart fruity aroma with floral-earthy notes. Beetroot and dry, almost wooden notes. Interesting.

Very beet forward but well balanced. Better than Zwanze 2020

Wow, dit pas rode biet in een bier. Typische basis wildbier van Nevel, maar nu met een lading kroten erin. Verrassend, ik zou het niet vaker kopen, maar toch wel lekker

Hazy red with white head. Beets. Lots of them and in quite detail. Earthy, sour. Medium body and soft carbonation, bit close-to-slimey mouthfeel. Very overpowering on the beets. It’s not horrible and probably fun to pair with food, but on its own it’s a bit much. --- Beer merged from original tick of Aard (Batch 3) on 09 Jan 2021 at 19:35 - Score: 7. Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Bit hazy deep red with small pink head. Lots of beets, sour grains, lemon, Nevel yeast, light herbs, more earthy beets. Solid medium sour, light sweet. Medium bodied. Heavy on the beets, but nice.
