Celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the Black Friday release, Goose Island’s Anniversary Bourbon County Stout aged for two years in Weller 12 Year barrels. Typically aged in 4-5-year-old barrels, the older barrels, along with the extra year of aging, will provide a more robust and bourbon-forward flavor profile.

Expect notes of dried fruit, bourbon, chocolate, and vanilla in what will most likely be the strongest beer of the lineup.

Bourbon, chocolate, vanilla. It’s a boozy, liquid birthday cake! Delicious! Pic from behind RBS.

Bottle from Chalumeaux, drunk 2/17/23. Clear dark brow. Small head. Big savory peppery, iodine and vanilla with bread and rich caramel. Soft wheat and lots of sweet toffee and sugar. Not too boozey. Strong, whiskey-forward with pepper and such. Dry, not viscous. Lots of pepper and whiskey character with salt and such. Light brown sugar, vanilla, toffee and such. Lot of saying and such.

500ml bottle. Soft, wheaty bourbony and slightly roasty with some oak, vanilla and chocolate notes. Quite nicely balanced and tasty.

50 cl bottle @ Jyrchi, BBE 08.06.2025 Aroma has bourbon, vanilla and licorice. Flavour has bourbon, liquor, licorice and mild rubbery tones. Too much alcohol and rubbery tones here - just like the Birthday one had.

Pours black, no real head. Scent is intense, chocolate, bourbon. Taste is sharp, sweet, lots of bourbon. Intense oak. Fullbodied, tad bitter. Boozy; bit too much on the bourbon side of things. For sure a good beer, but as expected, very overhyped.

🔸Level Up!🔸 Sadly couldn't make it the B5k, oh well. No head, bourbon on the nose. Medium body, sweet, smooth, a bit alcoholic. Lots of bourbon, oaky barrel, vanilla, caramel, a hint of dark berries. Rich and velvety smooth, great stuff.
