A Tart Saison Aged in Oak Barrels with Pineapples

The final day began as most days do.

The sky brightened. The birds awoke. The sun rose. And then He Appeared. And the sun fell. And the birds wept. And the sky vanished.

And the final day ended.

Think there may be a bit of confusion here. The displayed label is for Wild Blue Yonder, and the earliest reviews discription for colour don't seem to match what I poured from my Tropical Apocalypse bottle from the Lcbo. But whatever. Pour a golden tinted slightly orange, with next to no head which dissipates quickly. Definitely getting the pineapple in the nose, some aserbic green apple bite. Taste delivers a solid dose of pineapple flavour with acidity and a surprising level of sweetness which balances some sharp, aserbic bitterness. Mild vanilla notes from its barrel time. The balance of sweet and sour linger right into the finish. Excellent!

Cloudy gold with a small white head. Candied sour pineapple. Soured pineapple and a sour finish. Not sweet at all. Quite good.

Bottle: Poured a dark reddish color ale with a medium size foamy head with limited retention and not much lacing. Aroma of sour notes with light berry notes also perceptible. Taste is dominated by sour notes with some light acidic notes also perceptible. Berries are enjoyable and provide some residual sugar notes to offset some of the tartness. Body is full for style with good carbonation. Enjoyable but again lower acidity would increase drinkability.

Power tasting at Erik's
Dark red colour with pink head. The aroma is nice, it's funky, and there's some berry. Smooth mouthfeel, quite dry, but I'm disappointed by how weak this is; some berry, mild acidity, light earthy touch.
Ok beer.

Purplish-brown colour, with a thin head. The blueberry aroma is beautiful, with just a light bug signature and a bit of wood. On the palate, again a touch of tartness, fairly woody, and again a really nice fruit note, fairly sweet and juicy. I like this take on a blueberry sour.

A deep purple ale with a thin purple white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light blueberry jam, light acidity, light Brett, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet tart blueberry, with light acidity and light Brett, light lactic notes, nice. On tap at brewery.
