330ml bottle from Bierdome. Pours a very dark brown, off-white head of foam sitting neatly on top. Aroma of roast with curious fruity dark berry suggestions. Flavour profile sees the roast take the front seat, subtle grape influence which emerges more throughout the glass, alongside dried dark fruits, brown sugar, gentle sourness with more roasted malts on the finish. It's an ok beer, doesn't possess the wow factor but nicely sippable.

Small yellowish rim over opaque copperish brown beer. Maltsyrup, brown leaves, candi sugar, raisins. Stout-roasted, but with a little fruity, sourish edge. Raisins or slightly dried red grapes. Stoutacidity strengthened by the fruit in a good balance. Medium to better bodied. Medium carbonation. Light alcoholwarming. Not bad at all, original an IMHO successful combination/try out. A light haze on this deep amber brown beer, tidy tan head. Nose is a light but interesting combo of brown malts and something like red wine. Airy palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Taste largely follows the nose. A touch of creamy malt sweetness but mostly a pleasant brown malt vibe, slightly earthy. The red wine is much more evident than on the nose. Smooth and fairly rich but immature and more grapey as you might expect. The combo of flavours works well. Light finish. Intriguing. Not wildly left field but that said, I don't recall ever having a beer quite like this.

Bottle shared. Hazy dark brown with beige head. Strong aroma of smoke, ash, roasted malts. Then some sour berries, grapes, lemon sour, dead leaves. Light sweet, almost medium sour and bitter. Just medium bodied, slight dry.

28/II/21 - 33cl bottle from DOK Brewing Company (Ghent), shared @ home, BB: XI/2023 (2021-167)

Clear red to purple brown beer, big creamy bit irregular beige head, unstable, falls down quickly, non adhesive. Aroma: malty, soft roast, nice, some dried fruits. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: good roast, some alcohol, sourish impression, bit of alcohol burn, more roast. Aftertaste: dry, pretty bitter, coffee, little fruity, some dried fruits, some cherries, bit of tannins, soft acidity, little watery, slightly metallic finish.

Paired with 8h smoked and grilled pork collar steaks smothered in BBQ sauce, roasted potatoes with Van Eyck cheese and grilled pointed cabbage with dill oil and piccalilli mayo (take-out from Røk BBQ). Oh yeah!

Acajou, col fin blanc-cassé.
Arôme reste plutôt sur une base maltée - je retrouve de belles effluves de grillées sur une pointe de torréfié et de pain toasté le tout présente de belles notes de chocolaté avec un rétro fruité oscillant sur des effluves de fruits rouges, noirs et de baies sauvages. Je vois aussi un léger côté feuille rappelant le sous-bois.
Palais est hybride IGP - le caractère reste cependant fortement centré sur le stout - retrouve un malté généreux apportant des touche de chocolat noir, fève de cacao le tout se prête bien au caractère du Gamay qui pour moi reste un peu trop discret mais apporte cette belle balance entre caractère stout et le fruité un peu rouge du vin. En fin de bouche, le fruité du cépage revient sur une touche poivrée - cela accompagne le caractère stout qui reste plus dans le chocolaté-torréfié. Petite amertume chocolat en fin de bouche.

Atrium continue à convaincre et à sortir de belles productions - reste sur mon radar dans le top 10 des meilleures brasseries belges.
