Can, via the brewery online shop. Been sat in the fridge a good while. Sits black in the glass, with a fine, dense, leggy tan head. Nose has tar and sappy pine. Deep roast malt. Some coffee bean. Taste has a thick burnt toffee sweetness. Full on charred, piny bitterness. Smooth on the palate with fine carbonation. Drinks easy under the 11%. Lingering bitterness to finish. Imperial CDA this.

Tap at the little ale House Harrogate. A jet black brown coloured pour with a lasting whispy dark tan head. Aroma is figgy pud. Cakey malts, some alcohol, earthy roast.. Nutty. Flavour is composed of semi sweet nutty, hazelnut, dried cocoa, cakey, Warming alcohol, Belgian stout vibes. Dried fruits. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, medium bodied, moderate carbonation.

Can at home directly from Overtone, 21st May 2021. Pours a black beast of beer. Aroma is ash, liquorice, molasses. Taste is bitter, liquorice, ash, tobacco and leather, loads of complexity, molasses, never too sweet, dry and bitter finish and a straight up well made Impy, great stuff

440ml can. Black with a dense brown head, good retention. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee. Taste is sweet and rich, plenty of dark roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, toffee, tobacco, mild berries, noticeable hoppy bitterness, strong bittersweet finish. Full bodied, very thick and creamy mouthfeel. An outstanding American Stout with no adjuncty bollocks.
