Had this a few times at the Doocot - today it was quite chocolately, nice dark sweet malts - I just want more of that malt flavour but it’s 2.8% - I’m upping the taste to 7 as I keep going back to it. It does vary though - seemed to be fresh this time 3 > 3.3

Very dark chestnut brown, clear, creamy off white head, good lacing
Aroma - no aroma as served cold, as warmed up hint of roasted malt but little aroma
Taste - roasted malt, touch of coffee, roast grain, soft bitter, hint of chocolate, pretty good flavour for 2.8%
Palate - thin to medium body, medium carb, bit watery due to low abv....light bitter roast on palate. Finish as main flavour.
Overall - one of the best beers I’ve had at 2.8%, did try at another pub where it was awful so needs to be fresh. Also 68p for a half is super cheap.

Cask or tap at Cramond Inn, Cramond, Scotland, at only 3% if I recall correctly. Deep dark brown to black colour, creamy off white head. Aroma of dark fruits, nuts, light tart, grapes. Flavour of light roasted malts, light fruity, a bit earthy, light tart, dark fruits, light bitter finish. Light bodied, watery.

Keg at Sinclair’s Oyster Bar, Manchester. Very dark brown. Good caramel, slightly sweet. Ok hops, with a touch of sourness, and chocolate. Really Mild. Nice and nutty, very enjoyable. Slightly sweet malt and chocolate finish.
