A new way to enjoy our iconic Old Peculier! Until now our legendary Old Peculier has only been available as a cask conditioned beer on draught. However, we are proud to announce that the development of cold filtration has enabled us to apply a new conditioning technique to Old Peculier that ensures the unique flavours and aromas of the cask version are preserved. Served at a cooler temperature to suit contemporary tastes.
Brewed with only the finest malted barley, Challenger, Target and the majestic Fuggle hops. Fermented with the famous Theakston twin strain yeast to create its extra strength and complex character. The legendary Old Peculier is a deep, dark ruby coloured ale with a rich, fruity flavour with hints of black cherry and banana.

Cask @ JDW Montgomery's Tower, Shrewsbury for Simon's 50th. Pours a deep mahogany, creamy off-white head. Aroma has a gentle leathery treacle, continuing to taste. Smooth, a touch creamy, medium bodied, some distant oaky nods, nice toasty malt base. Good.

Via handpump, Cross Keys, Handsworth, Sheffield. One of those I’d have put money on having already rated. Anyway, in its dimpled mug, it’s dark, copper coloured, with an unclean lines haze. Film of sticky, cream coloured head. Nose is fruity and vinous. Hint of chocolate malts. Hint of vanilla. Taste has a vinous, tart streak, with some caramel sweetness on the lips. It’s not in good nick, but it’s very drinkable. I’ve had better pints of this, but this is still good, to the tune I might have another...

Cask at The Ship Tavern, deep mahoganey brown with an elegant malt aroma. Smooth nutty, caramel malt flavor without being overly sweet. Good.
