A pale strong ale. A complex and sophisticated IPA, using assertive American hops.

Cask at Craft Beer Co, Islington. Pours golden yellow with a thin off white head. Caramel and light citrus aromas, maybe a flowery note. Taste has good bitterness matching the caramel sweetness. Medium body, smooth texture, clean finish.

Keg, 6% at Lyric Soho. It pours hazy pale golden with a medium white head. The nose is straw, spice, grass, floral, white grape, tangerine and mango. The taste is crisp, floral, straw, grass, mandarin, clementine, nice bitterness and orange sherbet with a crisp, bitter finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Crisp, well-balanced and highly drinkable. Works better on keg than cask for me. Really rather delicious.

Aroma: Caramel and citrus.
Appearance: Hazy pale golden body with a thin white head that quickly fades. Very light carbonation. No lacing.
Taste: Fruity and quite sweet. Flavours of lime, flowers, sticky pine resin and caramel.
Palate: Thin to medium body with an oily texture. Average carbonation.
Overall: I’d like this to be even hoppier but it’s still a decent strong Pale Ale.

Cask at the Craft. Clear gold beer, tidy white head. Smooth palate with mild fine carbonation. A little creamy malt supports really good hops. Lovely tangy orange and tangerine with glorious tropical fruits, peach and mango and others, even some red berries. Really nice mix of hop flavours. Finsihes semi dry. Infinity was my new Blue Monkey high just a few mins ago but I’m knocked sideways by this - great stuff!

Had this in two different bars recently, this review is of a hand pulled pint from the excellent ’Wrekin Inn’ Wellington, Shropshire (Oct 2011). Golden colour, thin white head, not the best looking beer on earth, but OK. The smells were of citrusy hops (they are American apparently, Simcoe and Chinook)and some pine like resinous. Good mix of flavours, well blended with the hops taking centre stage and the hop hovvering in the background, but never far away. This is fairly strong for a UK IPA, but it hides the alcohol well and although hoppy it is nowhere near the West Coast of the US (currently) style of hop crazy brews.
