440ml can from lowcostbeer.com, just within BBE. Pours black, small beige head which leaves a small scattering on top. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, coffee beans, creamy lactose, vanilla. Big chocolate notes, roasty, vanilla, berries, coffee beans, big bitter bite in the finish. Medium to full bodied, chewy.

19/VIII/23 - 44cl can @ Gents Bierfestival (Gent), BB: VI/2021 (2023-460) Thanks to all for sharing today’s beers!
A little cloudy red brown beer, small creamy beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: very malty, some coffee, caramel, malty, grains, some chocolate. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sourish, malty, grains, chocolate, bitter touch, weird, funky. Aftertaste: coffee, fruity, nice but a little weird.

Old can from Goblet. Almost pitch black body, off-whtie head. Chocolate and oak notes, very pleasant, in the aroma. Chocolate and oak notes continue in the taste, joined by slightly stale vanilla. Was probably better more fresh, the vanilla lost a bit here, still quite good!

Draft at Tilt, Birmingham. Poured almost black with a frothy round tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, big dark chocolate. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, rich, slightly oily, sweet chocolate, light liqourice, vanilla lactose palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Exquisite.

Tap at Cafe Beermoth, Mcr. Pours dark brown towards black with a small beige head. Aroma: dark chocolate, roast malts, light coffee. Taste: dark chocolate, caramel, burnt toast, vanilla, spices - cinnamon, nutmeg. Surprisingly thin body for a 10.5% imperial stout, low carbonation. The body & carb let this down.

Can at 'Should have been at Pigs Ear' tasting, from HOTM online, 04/12/20. Black with a decent tan cap that clears to a swirl. Nose is chocolate, dark malts, light spice, dried fruit rinds. Taste comprises chocolate melt, sweet malts, hint of red berries, vanilla, light alcohol. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Decent all round impy ... not too sweet ... carries flavour and offers boost well.
