Late Red is a complex and richly flavoured Autumn Ale. Slightly red in colour, this ale is a balance between rich, dark malt flavors and a strong and robust hoppiness.

Bottle from local supermarket aroma of fruit and slight caramel. Pours with a miminimal head, that doesn’t last, has a red brown colour. Light bitterness with a medium body. Overall a good seasonal offering.

Nose is hops, dust, slight hay and berries. Nice. Taste is malt, slight cardboard, toffee, cherry, some spice in the dry finish. Mouthfeel is appropriate. A reasonable beer.

500ml bottle shared by Gaute. Frothy, off-white head with satisfying duration and lacing. Deep copper-brown coloured body. Malty aroma with hints of fruity hops. Semi-sweet malty taste nicely mixed with citrus fruits leading to a resin-like bitterness to the ending, semi-dry. Fine drinkability. Fits the season (Tromsø 24.10.2013).

A reddish brown beer with a medium and blond head. The nose is caramelly malty, some wood, and slighly aromatic citrusfruits, quite fresh. Taste of caramelly malts, still quite dry, citrusfruity hops, wood. Almost medium bodied, slightly harsh carbonation. Nothing unique, but basic bitter, quite fresh, that’s nice.

500 ml bottle purchased from the brewery shop. A clear, beautiful copper golden body with a small pale beige head. Aroma has caramel malt and some grass. Flavor is mainly caramel malt as well, some grassy bitterness and slightly fruity. Medium body and some bitterness in aftertaste. OK standard bitter, but nothing extra here.

Aroma is slightly sweet with English hops, some toffee, fruity notes and hints of grain. Flavour has toffee, English hops, biscuits and some berries. Yet another bitter.

Bottle courtesy of Asda! Lovely aroma, rich malty taste and very refreshing. Lovely colour too. I really didn't know what to expect when I bought this beer and probably feared the worst, but was very pleasantly surprised. Serving too cold will destroy the flavour, so leave it out of the fridge for an hour before serving. I like this ale and will buy it again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear 500ml bottle, best before Aug 09, drank Nov 08. Poured into a Hoegaarden Grand Cru glass. Deep amber reddy coloured beer with a good off white foaming head (at first). Claims to be an Autumn Hop Ale, there was a hoppy aroma, but not very strong, I detected more sweetness like moslasses and caramel/toffee. Tangy and spritzy, it tastes almost sharp and with a dryness that bites. It gets drier in the aftertaste as well. The rear label says it is rich, well it isn’t in my opinion, it is a bit watery for a 4.5% brew with very little depth of body. Not the best beer from this brewery, that I believe produces too many average beers instead of concentrating on their better, core products.
