Maharaja is derived from the sanskrit words mahat, - "great" and rajan - "king". Much like its namesake, this imperial IPA is regal, intense and mighty. With hops and malts as his servants, he rules both with a heavy hand. The Maharaja flaunts his authority over a deranged amount of hops: tangy, vibrant and pungent along with an insane amount of malted barley - fashioning a dark amber hue and exquisite malt essence.

12oz can from Pilgrim's Market. Deep golden pour, creamy, tight white head. Aroma is equal parts caramel malts and citrusy/pine hops. Taste is rich toffee, juicy hops. An old school DIP for sure that still holds up.

Bottle that was old? I dont know. Very fruity floral for deep amber pour. Malty, very malty resin. A bit much.

On a four beer flight at Stadium Brewing on 10th April 2025. Slight haze in the amber body, off-white crust on top. Malty front with a hoppy centre and finish, impressive beer all round, really enjoyed it. Piney, woody, earthy and heavy.

650ml bottle from dsnowden, thank you!
Wow, i could smell this beer all day. Such an amazing aroma of grapefruit, orange, lemon, and soapy pine!
Flavour is much of the same, so wonderful. Loads of flavourful hops, and the malt is there, and balances this out nicely. The finishis sweet, but also bitter, but not unpleasant. This is an incredible DIPA, very well balanced.

Can. Grapefruit aroma with notes of caramel malt, mango, papaya, floral and pine resiny hops. Pours clear copper colored with a finger of tan head that has excellent retention and decent lacing. Starts with juicy mango, papaya and caramel malt flavors. Finishes dry but still quite smooth with grapefruit, floral hop and pine resiny hop flavors. Quite good.

Aromas are citrus, slightly old resin hops and wet grain. Flavors are similar to nose, bittersweet and add in a touch of caramel. A bit of alcohol in the finish but otherwise a velvet hammer.

A golden-orange beer, a head is medium and blond. Aroma has grapefruit, pine, fructose, some orange and mandarin. Taste has grapefruit, pine, some fructose, then strong and piney bitterness dries the mouth. Medium+ bodied. Great beer, strong bitterness, fresh.

35cl Blik van Beer Republic. Iets mistig oranjegouden kleur, witte kraag. Veel citrus, licht bloemig, fruitig, grapefruit, ananas, sinaasappelmarmelade, licht moutig, goed bitter. Niet zo boozy als verwacht, drinkt verraderlijk makkelijk weg. Medium tot volle body. Zou graag nog eens een echt verse willen drinken.

355 ml can. Cloudy hazy orange, big stable foamy head. Mango, resin, grapefruit zest, pineapple, passion fruit, spicy hops, pine, lime juice, booze. Intense hoppy bitterness, boozy fruity sweetness. Full bodied, oily texture, lively carbonated, hoppy bitter finish with a light boozy warmth. Excellent!
