Rocky white head left a covering on a clear copper coloured body. The aroma us so faint it's hard to tell what it is Medium bodied, smooth & sticky in the back. Caramel, malt, grain & bitter tastes. Why does the label say IPA - straightforward Bitter & quite a poor Bitter.

Cask ale at White Cross in Lancaster. Shared with Finn. Spotty lacing from an off-white head. Next to clear amber. Fruity nose with vinegar. Malt-fruity flavours, vague vinegar off-taste beneath. Just about drinkable, not in its best shape though. (06.02.2019).

First taste, 26/9/16, RB score 6/3/6/3/12 (3). Cask at the Scafell Hotel, Rossthwaite. Amber, middling white head. Toffee with leafy hops. Not sure the flavours quite work together but it’s ok. Second taste, 25/9/16, RB score 7/3/5/3/10. Cask at Dockray Hall, Penrith. Amber with a white head. Nice and malty up front, but quickly becomes bland with caramel, stewed fruits and a bit of dust. Meh. Score given is the average of all tastes.
