Well rounded malty flavour, sweetish overtones followed by a subtle bitterness and fruity notes from the infusion of traditional hops from the neighbouring hop fields of Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Pours amber with a sturdy, off-white head. Aroma holds a bit of creamy toffee and ripe fruits. Flavor is pleasantly sweet, has some toasty malts, slight roast, mild coffee and toffee, some brown sugar, mild herbal bitterness. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Dries slightly on the finish with some sticky sugars, bit more toffee, toast, mild coffee. Actually a pretty dynamic, enjoyable beer. Nice.

50cl bottle. Pours a dark red/amber colour with some head which disappears quickly and there is a lot of carbonation. The nose has faint toffee and pine notes. The taste has stronger toffee notes and a litttle pine. The palate has a medium structure and texture but the finish is too sweet and also too carbonated. Overall, this is a bit unbalanced, though reasonably enjoyable.

Malty, earthy woody. Not that interesting. Typical boring British ale. Filling space

bottle, probably from Ross-on-Wyhe delicatessen. Hazy copper colour, creamy head. Malty-fruity nose. Medium-bodied, good malty basew tih lots of citrus hops and a nice herbal touch. Pleasantly spicy with hints of nuts. Very nice!

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a fading off-white head and a clear copper body. Aroma of fruit, caramel, alcohol (surprisingly), and grain. Taste is grain, mild alcohol, light fruit and some bitterness. Pretty bland. Fizzy and dry mouthfeel.

50cl bottle from Tesco, Solihull, ABV 5%. Copper with a thin, dense, cream head; unpleasant stewed malt aroma; similar stewed malt flavour with boiled sweets and some musty hops; caramel finish. Not bottle conditioned - pasteurised to death.
