Our Pumpkin Wheat seasonal offering combines the smooth taste of Shock Top with the flavors of Fall. We start with a traditional Belgian-style wheat ale and then brew with ripe pumpkins and a variety of autumnal spices, including nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves, for a refreshingly smooth beer that fully captures all the flavors of fall.

bottle - Pours hazy with many flakes and a minimal head. It has a pleasant pumpkin spice aroma. The flavor is sweet and spicy with ample yeast character. This light bodied brew is a decent one.

Hazy orange-amber pour with a medium creamy white head that diminishes quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet pumpkin spice and a bit of malt. Light body with flavors of pumpkin and grainy malt. The finish is short and sweet with a pumpkin aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Some reps were giving free bottles of shock top products away at my local liquor store, so I grabbed this and my wife grabbed the regular - I figured, "even if they suck, free beer is free beer" - hazy dark copper pour - pillowy but short-lived head - nose is heavy on the clove and nutmeg, but also some notes of overripe banana, apple, tangy wheat, moderate earthy pumpkin - medium body, full carbonation - fairly sweet - cinnamon and nutmeg are fairly strong, as is the pumpkin - light acidity late - a touch of vanilla - not particularly Belgian, but aside from being a bit too sweet, it isn’t too bad of a pumpkin ale.

Purchased on my trip to Vegas at the Total Wine store. First of two pumpkin ales tonight (the other being the Wasatch). Pours a hazy amber-golden colour with a fizzy off-white that disappears quickly and leaves a bit of lacing. Mild aromas of pumpkin and spices (nutmeg, cinnamon). Thin mouthfeel with just a little stickiness. Again, the taste is mild with the Halloween vegetable and spices (not much cinnamon in the flavours though). Not a bad pumpkin ale coming from AB.

Draft @ the local sports bar. Nothing going to surprise you here. Lively in carbonation. Light wheat beer taste. Not much different than the normal Shock Top but the cinnamon and nutmeg help it. I never would have guessed pumpkin if I didn’t know beforehand. I would say a watery butternut squash. Anyway…. Ok. A bit better than I would have guessed with AB making this stuff.

12 oz bottle. Pours hazy cantaloupe with a medium off-white head that collapses pretty fast. Pumpkin pie spices are strong in the nose, but it smells like they’re backing a bland macro malt bill. Tastes like....V8?? There’s seriously a tomatoey-like vegetable flavor in here. WTF is in this thing? I also detect a little bit of a chemical flavor. High carbonation--too fizzy. Not all that bad, just really weird.

Pours slightly hazed deep amber into a shaker. White head recedes at a medium pace leaving no lacing. Sweet pumpkin and nutmeg aromas. Dry with bubblegum and pumpkin upfront turning to earthy pumpkin before the lasting slightly sour finish.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a shaker. Pours light orange with small off-white head. Little lacing, medium carbonation, medium body, and light pumpkin aroma. Taste is pumpkin, nutmeg, clove, and a hint of banana. A descent AB product.

I had this while camping out with some friends at the Indiana Dunes State Park. I had this during the night, so I can’t really comment on the appearance. If anything, this tastes like Shock Top but with a slight hint of pumpkin, and when I say slight I mean SLIGHT. I think they just tried to get in on the pumpkin beer season and figured they’d just add a small bit of pumpkin flavoring to their already popular offering. Meh.
