Cask at the eponymous celebration. From now. Nose sweet, licorice, nutty. Taste, sweet licorice, chocolate coffee.

500ml bottle, IBU 39, bought at Gulating Ølutsalg, Tromsø. Small, patchy, beige head leaving spotty lacing behind. Deep rosewood coloured body. Inviting dark chocolate aromas, hints of liquorice. Dark doughy flavours, moments of chocolate and coffee. Smoothly roasted bitter ending. Fine depth. Nice (Tromsø 05.03.2018).

Bottle from Beers of Europe, Kings Lynn. Pours very dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted coffee, malt and chocolate with hints of nut, citrus and berries. Moderate sweetness and bitterness. Light to medium body, slight oily and watery texture, soft carbonation. Dry finish with lasting roasted bitterness. Easy drinking traditional stout.

Bottle 50 CL. Deep red, Clear with a minimum off white head. Roasted malt aroma with some dark fruit ald licorice sense. Bittersweet taste with a short malt and bread.

Bottle shared with JMD on board Fridtjofen 16.09.17. Ebony. Brown head and lacing. Fine aroma and taste of dark chocolate, roasted malt, roasted nuts, toffee and brittle. Very quaffable.

Flaske fra Gulating Stavanger, delt med skibsrederen omboed på Fridtjofen etter vellykket manøver: brunsvart med fint skum som varer. Cremet munnfølelse og smak med mørke sjokolader, vanilje og litt kaffesyre. Behagelig drikke på alle måter.

50cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. A dark cola coloured pour with a loose beige head; aroma of coffee grounds; dry and smooth in the mouth with a milky body and some chocoalte and coffee flavours; then a dry finish with a hint of warming spices, and lingering well-done toast. Rather good.

Cask at the Stockbridge tap. Pours black, nose is chocolate, toffee, liquorice, light coffee, taste is liquorice, chocolate, light fruit, bitter finish.

Bottled. A black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, bread, and caramel, leading to a bitter finish.
