Slightly off-white head, well laced with good retention. Body is a deep unfiltered amber. Heavy resinous hops with strong grapefruit and pine accents. Caramel and toffee in the sweet malts. Rich and slick with a strong hop finish.

473ml can. Opalescent, redd-ish, dark amber colour with average, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white head. Mellow malty and relatively weak, fruity, minimally piney, hoppy aroma, hints of red berries, a touch of coniferes, resin. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel malty and slightly resinous, piney and fruity hoppy, hints of dark honey, red berries, some resin, hints of coniferes; accumulating/increasing hop bitterness. Oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft, minimally greasy, simultaneously slightly dry palate, medium, soft carbonation. Condensed, earthy, almost a tad sirupy; insistent hop bitterness - a bit old-fashioned but not bad.

473 ml can. Pours a deep copper colour with moderate head. Aromas of dank, grassy hops and doughy malts. Flavors of toffee, doughy malts, light pine, light citrus and bit more dank hops. OK but a bit too doughy for me…

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Dark amber colour, chill haze; ugh, this colour was unexpected in 2023, even for West Coast IPAs. The aroma is too mild, there is some biscuity malt, and almost no hops. The flavour is better than the colour would lead to think; yes, there is some caramel, but there is more biscuity malt, and, even if it has respectable body strength, it's off-dry, hence not sticky or cloying; the hop, besides some obvious resins and dry pine sap, also has a mild minty quality, toothpaste; bold bitterness, but on style, and it hides the alcohol well.
Good, old style.
