Bottle. Mitchell’s Wines. 5.5%. Hazed pale gold. Decent white foam starts off voluminous and settles fairly solid. Nose has all the yeasty esters. Ripe banana. Clove. Taste is sweet with some weird astringency. Some tartness on the palate too with high-ish carbonation. Finishes similarly. Sets off good but gets a bit wonky.

50cl Fles bij Tutzinger Keller. Troebelgele kleur, witte kraag. Romig, banaan, licht kruidig, frisse tarwe, licht bitter, medium CO2. Lichte body. Prima zachte bananenmilkshake.

Pours slightly hazy , medium dark blonde. Medium sized, creamy, white head . Stable. Scent is typical weisse-banana esters. Cloves mildly present underneath. Taste is full, relatively bitter. Fresh, with banana yeast outspoken, though not as overpowering and exhausting as feared. Crsip wheat grainyness. Sweet, obviously, but not too much so. Cloves remain mild but present. Medium high carbo. Nothing super unique, but a more than correct weisse, thats better than the average (more crisp, less exhausting) and quite balanced. For those who like the style (more than I do) this would be a great one to have.

Tap at the beer bistro.
Hazy yellow piur, big frothy white head. Typical aroma of banana, cloves and bubblegum, with some strong yeasty, wheaty esters. Good mouth feel, good carb. Finish is low on the bitterness scale with a solid clovy, banana finish. Superb example lf the style, wonderful summer quaff.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is bready wheat, spicy yeast, banana, clove, and citrus. Flavour is medium sweet with a hint of sourness from the wheat. Body is medium and smooth. A very fine well-rounded Hefe!

Hefeweizen from Miesbach in Bavaria. Thick and creamy, crackling, densely pillowy, snow white, stable head on a misty warm peach blonde robe with old-golden tinge. Aroma of strong clove or even turmeric, banana peel, unripe melon, chamomile, brioche bread, wet cinnamon, ginger powder, minerals, rainwater. Sweetish fruity onset, hints of banana but not as outspoken as in many other Weissbiere, some green melon and Conference pear; minerally carbonation, yet smooth, soft body. Brioche-bready, cereally malt core edged by obvious wheat slickness and sourishness, very refreshing, with phenolic spice (clove, cinnamon, turmeric) in the end as well as a mild but adequate floral hop bitterish touch. Very solid Hefeweizen, feels authentic and acts very refreshing, with all the required elements present - and some more.

500ml bottle [at 5.5% abv]. Cloudy, yellow-ish, dark golden colour with average, frothy to creamy, slowly diminishing, minimally lacing, white head. Sweet-ish, minimally bready, wheaty malty and yeasty fruity, slightly yeasty spicy aroma, notes of banana and clove, a touch of overripe pear, whiffs of nutmeg. Taste is wheaty malty and yeasty fruity, minimally yeasty spicy, slightly dry and mildly bitter hoppy, hints of banana, pear, a touch of apricot, some clove in the last third. Creamy texture, smooth and soft, simultaneously minimally dry palate, medium to fine, dense, creamy carbonation. Nice, yeasty flavours with more aspects than solely banana and clove, very good mouthfeel - clearly above average Hefeweizen.
