Bottle from Morrisons Inverurie. It pours chestnut brown with a small off-white head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, brown bread, woody, leather, toffee, nutty, pecan pie, varnish, dried fruits, raisin, sultana and rivita. The taste is firmly dry, damp earth, leathery, tannin, slick, leafy, twiggy bitter - sweet character, toothy, toffee, brown bread, varnish, splash of cola and some spice with a drying finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Decent malt driven strong ale.

Bottle from Morrisons, Aldershot. Aroma had sweet caramel and berries. Clear dark amber. Thin creamy off-white head soon fades. Light-medium bitter. Woody. Tangy. Sour berry streak gains traction. Underlying malts. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Flat-average carbonation. Long somewhat astringent finish. Interesting enough.
