Aromatique plutôt faible laissant à peine passer quelques notes de noisettes, d’érable et de houblons feuillus. Le liquide est brun avec des accents cuivrés, partiellement voilé, se couvrant d’une mousse beige assez épaisse et persistante. En bouche, ce sont des accents de noisettes qui dominent l’attaque sur un fond de sucre d’orge et soupçon d’érable. La finale nous présente une amertume de feuilles d’automne et de terre assez prenante. Le sucré est un peu trop délicat à mon gout. Les noisettes et l’amertume ramène l’équilibre vers ces saveurs. Bonne Brown Ale bien amère et peu sucrée. Les notes de caramel sont trop dicrètes.

On tap at Dieu du Ciel!, pours a medium brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out medium toasted malt, toasted nuts and a hint of dry caramel. Flavour is robust for a brown ale, with toasted malt and nuts, and some semi-sweet caramel. Nicely constructed with a good body. Solid for the style.

On tap at Dieu du Ciel, Montreal on 5th July 2017. Mid brown with pale tan foam and scant lacing. Toffee malt aroma. Biscuit malt and leafy hop notes in-mouth. Grassy bitterness in the finish. Smooth mouthfeel and a light body.
