biscuit malt and mild hop nose. A very thin white head on a rich gold and orange body. A well blended and refreshing Belgian pale ale. Spice, pepper, biscuit malt with cereal density, pilsnerish yeast, honey and a hint of kiwi and orange round out a complex and enjoyable taste profile. Taste sustains well but has a clean finish. Well done!

Dry, grassy hops, tropical fruit, lots of yeast and some upfront acidity. Finish is sharp, and dry, with some tart fruit notes and yeasty breads.

Bottle: Poured a clear golden color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of residual sugar ad light cereal notes is OK. Taste is a mix of quite a bit of residuals sugar notes with some cereal and light fruity ester. Body is about average with good carbonation. The NZ hops notes are quite a bit subtle and don’t’ play a huge role as I would have expected.

Bottle from the LCBO. Hazy medium orange with a small off white head. Nose is yeast, spice, tropical fruits, light honey and some banana. Very light sweetness under a spiciness that presents as pepper and a hint of cloves leading to a moderately bitter finish. Mouth is slightly thin with lively carbonation and a long dry finish. 8-/4-/7+/3/15

Thanks to PaleAleRider for this one (purchased at the brewery). Pours a cloudy golden colour with a beautiful creamy warm cap that is very long lasting. At first pour, scent of wine (on the yeasty-wine side), but then, the Belgian yeast comes out with some organic malts. Medium-bodied with a nicely balanced taste of grains, hops and yeast, with citrus notes. The hop is quite pleasant in the mouth giving a light dryness with a bit of bitterness. The Belgian hints of a pale ale lingers nicely. A refreshing, easy-going, Belgian Pale Ale that I could drink many of these. Recommended for session and wish this one was available year-round.

A golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, nice fruity malt with grassy hops, terpentine, cloves, coriander and oranges. In mouth, a nice smooth malt with candy sugar, coriander, and cloves, oily yet dry, alcohol warmth, nice. Cask at Beau’s Oktoberfest Sept 29 2012.

Draught at Volo, Toronto
Cloudy light amber color. The aroma is lightly spicy. Smooth mouthfeel; good spicy malt flavor, strong bitterness, but not much hop luck.
