Bouteille 341ml. De couleur dorée foncée et claire. Nez de levures fruitées (léger de bananes, trace d’agrumes), de caramel doux , léger d’épices (poivre doux, notes de clou de girofle et de coriandre) avec de très faibles notes de fumée. Moyenne-mince en bouche et plutôt pétillante avec une texture très légèrement huileuse et aux petites notes aqueuses. Moyen goût de levures fruitée (léger de bananes, notes de pommes, traces de poires et d’agrumes) avec des notes épicées (clou de girofle, traces de coriandre) lors de l’entrée en bouche suivi d’un goût de malt légèrement rôti avec des notes de caramel sucré puis en finale l’on retrouve un très faible goût de fumée (malt whisky) avec un léger regain épicé (poivre doux). Post-goût moyen, très légèrement amer de levures épicées et fruitées avec des traces fumées et rôties. (2006)

Originally rated December 2005. This just came in the convenient store I went in for a 6 pack. Whisky beer... alright, lets do ’er. Pours a golden-amber colour with a medium creamy white head. This one has medium retention and not much lace. Carbonation is part of the game, consistent and also medium, going on the high side. Smells like Unibroue’s famous yeast. No yeast is found at the bottom though, and the brew is really clear. Watery mouthfeel, crisp and refreshing. The taste is like a smokey light Unibroue beer with a slight corn finish. Very mild whisky is maybe found, but not much. Feels like a watered down Raftman from Unibroue, made for swillers.

Bottle: Poured a light brown color ale with a small foamy head with minimal retention. Aroma of scotch and malt with some very very light smoke. Taste of light scotch malt with almost no smoke. The body is way too watery for the style with some low carbonation. I was expecting worst considering the brewer but by no mean is this a bad beer.

Brown bottle, 341 ml, purchased on July 2 2006; eye: amber with golden reflections, nice tan head, clear, good effervescence; nose: yeast, caramelized malt, coriander, bread; mouth: bitterness at first, followed by caramelized malt, bitterness again, spices in there, finale is bitter with a little pepper, lightly sweet, medium bitterness, light body, rather thin, nice carbonation; overall: not so bad FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 341 ml, acheté le 2 juillet 2006; oeil : ambré avec des reflets dorés, belle mousse tan, claire, bonne effervescence; nez : levure, malt caramélisé, coriandre, pain; bouche : amertume, malt caramélisé, amertume, épices, finale en amertume avec un peu de poivre, légèrement sucrée, moyennement amère, corps léger, plutôt mince, bonne carbonatation; en résumé : pas pire

Golden ake with a thick white head. Slightly spiced malt aroma, herbal notes. In mouth, light peaty malt with some orange peels, lighter bodied. Bought at Joanette, 1.79$,
