A big fluffy white head with solid lacing. The straw/gold body is topped by a solid nose of sweet malt, grain, honey and citrus fruit. A really tasty saison! Cereal, Belgian yeast, and touches of pepper and spice work nicely with a range of fruity undertastes - orange, lemon and peach. Some floral hops here too. Plus effervescence helps keep it refreshing.

This is the beer that won gold at the mondiale 2012, hmmm ok.
Copper pour, small white head. Light tartness, slme light pepper, and spice. Mouthfeel is a little thick for the style, carb is a little low. Finish is spicy, with some loght tartness, and some grassy hops. Refreshing, but a little too thick. Tasty, but i dont see the hype.

Saison traditional on tap at the brewpub. Crystal clear gold, spicy and sweet saison nose, the aim was to make something as close to the original simple farmhouse saison as possible in that I think they succeeded. A clean and simple saison, very well executed.

Some store: bottle poured into plastic cup. Pours bubbly golden with a white head. Aroma is peppery, slightly funky, and quite fruity. Taste is similar: spicy, a bit sweet, and dry. This was a pretty run of the mill saison to my mind. Good.

Single from a local IGA. Pours a cloudy golden-amber with a frothy off-white head, good retention and lots of foamy lace. Aromas of Belgian Ale yeast with some spices (cloves, coriander) with some rye notes. Also hints of sweet sugars and apples. The taste is a little unbalanced though. A little malty, a little sour, a little sweet, a little grass and some light alcohol. Too bad it is all over the place, as this could be a good one.

A hazed amber ale with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, a nice mix of lemon, fruits, & smooth brett, pleasing. In mouth, a smooth silky fruity malt with clover and brett, grassy and citrusy, well done.

Bouteille 500ml.

Doesn’t smell like much, a little grass. Taste has a little sourness, a little grass. A tiny bit of bubblegum. A very light beer - could almost be a lager, it’s not very well done for the style. There’s sourness in the aftertaste as well. Pours blond, decent lacing. There’s a little fruitiness I guess. On tap at Saint Bock.
